RoamAD's evolutionary business model is a paradigm shift in metro-scale wireless networking.
Traditionally operators of metro Wi-Fi and public safety networks have had to buy their completed systems with integrated hardware and software from a single supplier.
Municipalities, ISPs and First Responders have not been able to take advantage of the rapid changes in hardware (from both a technology and price perspective). Nor have they been able to benefit from the constant evolution of wireless networking software. This has resulted in customers buying proprietary solutions that were expensive, fairly inflexible and rapidly out-dated.
RoamAD has addressed these issues by developing highly flexible software platform for the converged wireless networking market.
RoamAD's feature rich, market leading, wireless networking platform has been designed to operate on multi-radio nodes assembled from best-of-breed standards-compliant components.
RoamAD's choice to use standards-based wireless node components ensures ease of upgradeability and maintenance as well as allowing customers to take advantage of decreasing hardware component prices and a choice of multiple hardware suppliers.
Wireless node components include Atheros-based miniPCI form factor radios such as those from leading radio companies like Senao and Ubiquiti Networks as well as robust motherboards based on Intel XScale® technology from experienced engineering companies such as ADI Engineering and Gateworks.
RoamAD supplies its solution to municipalities, telecommunications service providers, ISPs and First Responders via its growing list of value added resellers/systems integrators (VAR/SIs).
The VAR/SIs either assemble the multi-radio nodes themselves (configuring them to the customer requirements) or purchase them pre-assembled from RoamAD OEM Partners who are certified by RoamAD to sell RoamAD Compatible multi-radio nodes. The VAR/SIs then install RoamAD's software on the nodes and supply the completed solution to the customer.
Only RoamAD certified RoamAD OEM Partners are able to sell RoamAD Compatible multi-radio nodes. Look for the RoamAD Compatible logo to ensure compatibility or check with RoamAD.
Since RoamAD understands the rapidly evolving nature of wireless networking, advancement of radio technologies and changing application functionality, all RoamAD wireless nodes are remotely upgradeable to ensure that they are constantly up-to-date running the latest software.
The result for customers is a cost-effective, highly flexible multi-use converged wireless network that is not dependent on a single a hardware vendor and that allows network operators to enjoy the benefits of continual reductions in industry-standard hardware components.
