Join a fast-growing wireless networking company servicing a diverse global customer base in a varied technical support role.
We’re looking for a fast learner to:
- Assist a global customer base in the operation and optimisation of their wireless networks.
- Empower new customers to successfully manage their own networks.
- Provide expert-level troubleshooting skills.
- Maintain technical documentation and technical support resources.
- Be enthusiastic, co-operative and demonstrate excellent technical competence.
- Assist with other technical aspects of the business, including software development and sales support.
Key skills and experience required in the following:
- Linux/UNIX-like systems administration.
- Well developed TCP/IP network configuration and troubleshooting experience.
- An understanding and interest in 802.11 wireless networking.
- Proficiency with network tools. For example: tcpdump, Wireshark, nmap, iptables, iproute2, NetStumbler.
- Clear, professional written and oral communication.
- Patient, careful listening skills with high tolerance across a diverse range of cultures.
- Proactive in looking for ways to improve processes and technology use.
- Lateral thinking and creativity in implementing solutions.
The following skills will give you the edge:
- PHP
- MySQL
- Apache
- HTML/CSS/JavaScript
- Embedded device development/knowledge
- Technical writing
- Software Quality Assurance
- Debian
- JEE 5
- Dynamic languages (eg. PHP, Python, Perl, Ruby)
- Experience with web services (eg. SOAP)
While the position calls for someone technically proficient in networking, and ideally with some software development experience, the candidate must also have strong communication skills, patience, more patience and an aptitude to assess and resolve customer queries remotely.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced team player that is mature-minded, proactive and confident, and possesses outstanding communication and English language skills to deliver professional technical support to our global customer base.
